SYNOPSIS: For years, Rob Frietag has resisted anything resembling a true emotional connection, preferring instead to explore life, and his own desires, without committing to anyone for very long. The reason remains known only to a few, among them Jack Gordon, his college cohort in female conquests, and life-long friend. At thirty-seven, while he is close to achieving his career goal, head chef at a five-star restaurant in Chicago, he is still very much alone.

After an intensely emotional relationship with Suzanne Baxter in Ann Arbor, Blake’s heart is left shattered. Completely broken by what he believes was his one true love, he arrives at a Chicago food and beer festival, prepared to drink his sorrow away.

When the two men meet, their lives change forever. But time is of the essence.

When Rob acknowledges his true feelings, he will stop at nothing to keep them together, including finding a surrogate mother for the child Blake so desperately wants.

Lila Warren is recovering from a nasty divorce, needs cash and believes carrying their baby will fulfill her in ways marriage never did. None of them could suspect that the connection they share would provide the final emotional key to their life-long puzzle.

When Rob’s secret is revealed, time becomes the one luxury they don’t have, setting in motion a chain of events that destroys the fragile illusion of happiness for them, and everyone who loves them.

REVIEWS:
“I don’t even know where to begin on this stunning and beautiful book. Ms. Crowe has outdone herself with this 4th installment in the Stewart Realty series… It’s so hard to review Essence of Time without giving too much information away about the mind-blowing ending, so I will leave readers with this: Even if you have not read the first three books in the Stewart Realty series you must put Essence of Time on your critical to-read list immediately! Ms. Crowe will have you laughing, drooling and crying while at the same time wishing you had her personal email to give her hell about these characters! For all these reasons I feel Essence of Time deserves a JERR Gold Star Award.” Gold Star Award ~ Just Erotic Romantic Reviews – 7/2012
——
“This book did it for me. I think my heart broke into a million pieces and I’m still trying to understand the twists and turns that this book had and the reason why it ended the way it did. Beware, you should have a whole box of Kleenex by your side because you will need it from beginning to end.

ESSENCE OF TIME totally left me devastated, heartbroken but with a different view in life. Live life as if tomorrow is the last, never waste time no matter the circumstance.

If you have not started reading this series, Stewart Realty Company, please do so as you will not be disappointed. This book really gives you a different perspective on not only Rob and Blake’s lives but also Sara, Jack and Suzanne. I have reviewed all the four books in this series and it was a pleasure reviewing this one. I can’t wait ‘til book five comes out.”
5 Stars & Top Pick ~ The Romance Reviews – 7/2012
——
“The passion in Essence of Time is hot and smoking! It will leave you wanting a cold beverage when you are done reading just one scene. There is something sexy about the desire that builds between Rob and Blake. But it is the emotional connections that are woven between the characters that create a story you won’t want to put down. The headstrong men, Rob and Blake, don’t let things come easy to them. I wanted to strangle them both at different parts of the story. While at other points, I was cheering their open and heartfelt love on. Liz Crowe knows how to write powerful stories that will pull at your heartstrings and make you wish for a love like that.

While Essence of Time is book four in the Stewart Realty books, it does read as a standalone book. It isn’t necessary to read the other books before reading Essence of Time but if you do read the other books first, Essence of Time will give you the background on your favorite characters, letting you inside their minds and seeing what makes them tick.

If you are fan of romance stories that drag you into the story and make you want to read the book from cover to cover, you are going to love Essence of Time. Just don’t blame me for your lack of sleep!” 5 Hearts ~ Sizzling Hot Book Reviews

AUTHOR BIO:
Microbrewery owner, multi-published author, beer blogger and journalist, mom of three teenagers, and soccer fan, Liz Crowe brings years of experience in sales and fund raising, an eight-year stint as an ex-pat trailing spouse, and making her way in a world of men (i.e. the beer industry) to her life and work as erotic romance author. When she isn’t sweating inventory and sales figures for the brewery, she can be found writing, editing or sweating promotional efforts for her latest publications.

Otherwise, look for her doing pounds of laundry for her athletic children, watching La Liga on the Fox Soccer Channel, or trying to figure out what to order in for dinner. Liz loves her Foo Fighters Pandora station, and watching reruns of Deadwood, when there aren’t any decent sports on the telly. Her beer blog www.a2beerwench.com is nationally recognized for its insider-yet-outsider views on the craft beer industry. Don’t ask her for anything “like” a Budweiser or risk painful injury.

Liz Crowe’s books are set in the not-so-common worlds of breweries, on the soccer pitch, in Istanbul, and in high-powered real estate offices.

When he’s forced to see Jeff again to return his briefcase, Ian finally agrees to go out on a date. SNEAK PEEK:

It had been months since he’d last seen the man. He’d come so close to asking Blue Eyes out on a date. The last time they’d met, Ian had planned on discovering his favorite food so he could book a table somewhere. Ian would have asked him out that night if Blue Eyes hadn’t received a call from his soon-to-be ex.

Ian had chased him out of the shop. The last thing Ian needed was to be an experiment for a straight guy. He’d never be able to handle that again, not after Kyle.
Ian tried to break eye contact but couldn’t. Blue Eyes let his briefcase fall to his side and straightened. Another gust of wind blew hard, sending his jacket flying around his legs. It was cold, wet and not a fit night for anyone.

If Ian had any sense, he would grab his things and go upstairs. He didn’t need a man in his life right now. He certainly didn’t need some straight guy playing around with him, only to throw him aside when the next cute chick came around.

Blue Eyes walked forward, coming to the edge of the curb but not crossing the street. Ian set his pen down and tapped his fingers on the countertop. Blue Eyes stepped onto the road, not even bothering to look for traffic, and crossed.

Ian’s heart pounded with every step closer Blue Eyes took. He’d forgotten how handsome Blue Eyes was, how intense he was one moment, only to be grinning and easy in the next. Ian couldn’t move, his gaze locked on the other man until he stood outside the door to the shop.

Neither of them said a word, simply stared at one another. Finally, Ian got to his feet and walked around the counter. He stopped at the end of the aisle, frozen. Beyond the kitchen to his right was the staircase leading up to his apartment. To the left was the front door and Blue Eyes in the cold night.

Ian took a deep breath and went left.

SYNOPSIS

When Trent Copeland runs into Reed Acton at a Bangkok airport, he thinks the handsome American is too good to be true. Why would someone like Reed be interested in a quiet, introverted gay-romance writer? After all, even an obvious tourist like Trent can see that there is more to Reed’s constant unexplained appearances in his path than meets the eye.

Reed Acton has one mission and one mission only—he needs to get the map that was accidentally slipped into Trent’s bag and keep the mobsters who want the priceless artifact from taking deadly revenge. Trent Copeland is a delicious and damned near irresistible diversion, but Reed can’t afford distractions right now, especially if he wants to keep Trent safe.

From Bangkok’s seediest back alleys to the sacred north, the two men will fight to stay one step ahead of the bad guys and learn that the only treasure worth finding is… each other.

REVIEWS:

This isn’t just a romantic book – it’s also one that teaches a lot about another culture in a way that doesn’t feel forced. I loved the setting, the characters intrigued me, and there were enough questions left unanswered and these were so tastefully done that the questions actually kept me wanting more instead of frustrating me. Instead of being disappointed by the lack of explanations for a couple of things, I find myself yearning for a sequel. –MM Good Book Reviews (http://mmgoodbookreviews.wordpress.com/2011/08/11/rarer-than-rubies-by-e-m-lynley/)

This book is filled with adventure, lust, and love and I couldn’t get enough. Trent is one of those make characters you can’t help but fall in love with from page one brave, funny, and quirky he is the type of male that commands attention and I couldn’t turn him down.– JBP Reviews (http://jbpreviews.com/2011/08/24/rarer-than-rubies-by-e-m-lynley/)

The novel has the fast pace and the vivid images of a movie script, and of course the foreign setting helps a lot. .. it also seemed to me the author was paying an homage to the most famous romantic adventure movie of ever, Romancing the Stone. Like in that movie, a mostly naive romance writer unwillingly lives the adventures you usually find in romance books to the end arriving to crave them. –Elisa Rolle (http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/1407039.html)

SNEAK PEEK:

“See? You can trust me.” Reed laughed. He enjoyed watching Trent consume the rest of the coconut pieces, picking each up and licking it to catch the last drops of the drink before sucking it into his mouth with a tiny slurp.
“Eating coconut and going somewhere with you are two entirely different things.” Trent tilted his head slightly then licked his lips and Reed had to keep from jumping across the table and kissing him. Did Trent know how he was torturing Reed as he imagined what else those lips and tongue could be doing. The smile on Trent’s face led Reed to believe that maybe he did. Damn tease! But Reed was enjoying the game. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d felt a spark like this for anyone.
“Fair enough.”
They chatted casually for another ten minutes, where Reed kept the conversation mainly about Thai food–deftly avoiding personal topics–until Trent seemed to have relaxed and become less suspicious. Reed noticed Trent’s appraising glances and grinned, hoping his dimples might be extra convincing. God, he hated doing it this way but he was on a short timetable and he didn’t have the luxury of being smooth about it.
“Have you decided you can lower the threat level on me to blue or green?”
Trent laughed and Reed’s spirits picked up. He liked the sound of Trent’s laugh.
“Well, I might go as low yellow, with an option for blue.”
